CYBER-ON-CALL® restores data after ransomware attack

A CYBER-ON-CALL® team from Axis Technologies recently executed a ransomware attack solution to restore a significant data loss for an oil & gas client. Ransomeware infected the client’s Oklahoma servers over a recent weekend, and they immediately called Axis Technologies. The latter deployed one of their CYBER-ON-CALL teams to the client’s remote Texas/DFW office.

The Challenge: Applications and data were not accessible for days due to ransomware infection, determined to be a variant of the Dharma ransomware. As a result, software, servers, and laptops were not accessible, which resulted in an interruption to business operations.

The Solution: Get operations up and running again by bringing systems/networks back up and restoring data loss.

According to George Bower, Axis Technologies and CYBER-ON-CALL CEO, “our client learned that we are always on call 24x7x365, from our previous outreach. They called us late on a Friday night. We responded by sending our CYBER-ON-CALL consultant out to Oklahoma and the next day to their DFW location. Our consultant met with the company’s Manager of Technical Support and his IT lead to determine a course of action. We determined that we could restore their Oklahoma site since they had high-quality data backups. We then restored their PCs and servers to bring them back online, eliminate the ransomware threat, and alleviate the ransom’s need.”
