Embedded Controls Software Engineer

Our Client is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Embedded Controls Software Engineer. The embedded controls software role will integrate with technology and vehicle platform development teams with focusing on the propulsion systems. The emerging concept vehicles provide opportunities for flight controls software engineering, simulation, and test of configurations and technologies that will shape the future of aviation. This position will be part of a diverse team of engineers capable of executing in a challenging and fast-paced environment.

•Develop embedded DO-178 software for Flight Control System (FCS) with complex hardware
•Perform formal software development through design for requirements and requirements verification with C/C++ code and MathWorks MATLAB & SIMULINK toolsets
•Develop and update requirements and verification traceability
•Conduct software integration and testing on target hardware
•Develop, implement, document, and review Low-Level Test (LLT) and High-Level Test (HLT) software cases and expected results

Education Requirements

•Experience at all levels will be considered with a minimum of 5 years specific experience with embedded control software development. Preference will be given for additional work in sensor and actuator controls, avionics, or electrical systems integration, development, and testing.

Control Laws Engineer

Areospace Industry

Our Client is developing next-generation vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) vehicles in the areas of On-Demand Mobility (ODM), autonomous logistics, and high speed. These vehicles offer a new and exciting field of vertical lift featuring optionally manned and unmanned vehicles. These vehicles have many challenging aspects, including autonomy, multi-modal flight, and the transition between modes.

The Handling Qualities and Control Law Engineer will support the following:
•Analysis of control law inner and outer loop functions.
•Linear and non-linear analysis of integrated flight and propulsion control systems
•six degree of freedom simulation development (6DoF)
•Integration of control law functions into flight software models with supporting requirements definition
•Execute desktop testing of integrated flight and propulsion control software with six degree of freedom simulations
•Aircraft & rotorcraft stability and control design and analysis
•Documentation of work in engineering memos and presentations to supervision

Education Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree is required. Major in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered. Master’s Degree in Engineering is preferred.

Position Requirements:
•Experience with Mathworks •Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow; specifically, simulation development, control system analysis, and scripting
